christmas cookie overload

After a first (less than bold) attempt to upend the tyranny of red and green, I attacked my second batch of holiday cookies with more whimsy and less timidity.  But… I still wanted to strike the right balance between revolution and tradition.  The aqua and pink are close enough to red and green to make these recognizable as holiday cookies but different enough to change the overall effect.  I love them. the cookie compromise

The intense negotiations over the fiscal cliff have prevented me from taking any real time off in December.  It would be too kind say that our friends on the Hill have made it a tense holiday season. BUT… nothing gets between me and holiday baking.  I have spent every spare waking hour since Thanksgiving with the only known cure for Washington’s political consternation: icing bags and the History Guys.
