finally spring

It was a long, wet, cold winter in the nation’s capital.  Despite the fact that 2013 was the warmest year on record — and the warmest and driest in California–Nate and I suffered near-New England-like conditions down here in DC.

Spring is finally finally here.  The cherry blossoms are out; it was 80 degrees and sunny today.  PERFECT weather for spring cleaning (which in our house means more construction than actual cleaning.)  The master bath project is very nearly complete (minus a little creative plumbing) and we have finally started paying attention to the outside of the house. In between renovation projects, I managed to make some cookies that actually feel like spring. IMG_1719 IMG_1722 IMG_1723 IMG_1724 IMG_1725
