I received an email over Thanksgiving requesting cookies for a story book-themed baby shower. The request came from a fellow baker who is perhaps more detail-oriented than I am. I set out to impress both myself and her. A task, indeed.
The result is much better from far away than up close. It was a humid, rainy weekend and I was very concerned about bleeding, so I made the icing much thicker than I ordinarily would. The result is clumpier than I would like, but they are still pretty adorable.
